The star of John Peel’s Shed (Fringe sell-out 2011, 2012, adapted for Radio 4) and The Newsagent’s Window (award-winning book, adapted for Radio 4) has spent the past twelve months visiting seaside towns. This show is about a lunchtime walk through one such town: John charts the lives, loves, hopes and nostalgia all found down on the beach.
‘Beautifully-written, funny, poignant’
‘Shy and awkward but with a keen eye for a killer line and the significance of the trivia of daily life, Osborne sits somewhere between Tom Wrigglesworth and Daniel Kitson, which is a very good place to sit. I could have listened for hours’
‘One of the Top Ten Theatre Highlights of the Edinburgh Festival 2011… funny, perceptive and charming’
